As you may know, Sound’s David (Associate Director), Justin (Senior Paraplanner) and I were voted by the team to take on the September, 17th Nuclear 5k BLAST Race.

But we were joined by another. Wortley Byer’s very own action woman, Jane Winfield (Partner in Commercial Property and Head of Business Development) who rose to the challenge and embarked on our endeavour to complete the gruelling 37 obstacle course race.

It was a cold morning when the race started.

The elements were against us.

Time was against us.

But mostly, after David’s fall and impact to the head…his lack of coordination was against us.

Exhibit A:

While his 6″4 stature lends itself well to changing light bulbs and playing his favourite sport badminton, it was clear it did not aid him in the numerous obstacles we were to endure.

Exhibit B:

Together, as a Sound Team we managed to complete the course in just over 2 hours all in aid of our Charitable Fund.

An overwhelming amount of sponsorships came flooding in enabling us to have now reached just over our 50% target, totaling £12,772 to date since the launch of our Charitable Fund in July 2015.

So please accept a huge thank you on behalf of the team here at Sound for your ongoing generosity and support.

And of course, if you missed the opportunity to donate ahead of the race you can access our Just Giving page by clicking here: The Sound Financial Planning Charitable Fund

Over and out, Anna.
